Mike Pompeo, who was the Secretary of State under Trump and is now a candidate for the US presidency, joined the board of directors of Kyivstar. In addition, Kaan Terzioglu, the CEO of the Veon group of companies (the parent company of Kyivstar), was appointed as the chairman of the board of directors.
This is reported by Forbes.ua. It is noted that Pompeo will join the board of directors of “Kyivstar” as an independent member.
“These changes in Kyivstar’s board of directors reflect Veon’s commitment to Ukraine, as well as the recovery and reconstruction of Ukraine,” the company said in a release.
The publication writes that Pompeo is a partner of Impact Investments, a recently established US-based strategic, financial advisory and investment firm that consults, invests and partners with the world’s leading strategic companies in various industries and regions. Impact should provide management support to Kyivstar and its parent company Veon in a number of key strategic initiatives regarding Ukraine.
