The Turkish cellular operator Turkcell announced the decision to transfer its assets in three Ukrainian companies – Lifecell , Global Bilgi and Ukrtower – to the French investment company NJJ Capital .
According to the company’s announcement on the website of the Turkish public disclosure platform, the transfer of assets has not actually been completed. The parties are currently negotiating the cost of the deal and its terms.
BloombergHT estimates the proceeds from the sale of Lifecell at UAH 12.7 billion ($334 million), Global Bilgi at UAH 47.2 million ($1.2 million), Ukrtower at UAH 1.96 billion ($51.6 million) .
In early November, it was reported that Lifecell’s third-quarter revenue accounted for 75.9% of Turkcell International’s revenue and 8.4% of the entire Turkcell holding. At the time, Turkcell said Lifecell’s current cash reserves were “more than sufficient” to support the company’s operations.
